Practitioner-Led Research (PLR)

Our PLR programme provides funding to practitioners within CWDC's footprint to carry out their own small-scale research projects.

Practitioner-Led Research (PLR) 2008-09

Integrated working

CWDC has commissioned 62 PLR projects in 2008-09. These small-scale research projects will focus upon the theme of integrated working within the children's workforce. This will help to further inform workforce development through learning from those who deliver and receive services.

CWDC is keen to find out more about how members of the children’s workforce work with each other and with the children and young people for whom they provide a service.

Through the PLR programme this year, CWDC will know more about:

  • what children and young people think of the services they receive;
  • how the workforce works together across organisations and boundaries to deliver integrated services;
  • how practitioners are transferring integrated working policies into practice;
  • what current effective practice looks like;
  • how services could be developed further.

Practitioners will carry out their research over six months and will present their final findings at a series of celebration events in April 2009.
